About these terms

These are the terms that apply when you buy a Portiko product or use this website. Portiko products are published by Novatib Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14234369). When we say "we" or "us" we mean Novatib Ltd; when we say "you" we mean you, the customer or visitor.

By making a purchase or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't buy anything or use the site.

What we sell

Portiko products are digital products — downloadable Word documents, Excel workbooks, PDFs, and similar files designed for use by individual healthcare professionals or single organisations. Each product page describes what's included and who it's intended for.

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable. Where Gumroad calculates VAT separately on behalf of EU/UK tax authorities, this is shown at checkout.

How purchases work

Purchases are processed by Gumroad, our payment processor. When you click "Buy" you are taken to Gumroad's secure checkout to complete payment. Once payment is confirmed, Gumroad emails you a download link. You can re-download your purchase from the link in that email at any time.

We do not see, store, or process your payment card details. All payment data is handled by Gumroad in accordance with their terms and PCI-DSS standards.

Right to cancel and refund policy

The 14-day right to cancel. Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you would normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online. However, this right is lost when you start downloading a digital product, because the supply has begun and the product cannot be returned. By clicking the download link or accessing the digital product, you are expressly consenting to the supply beginning and acknowledging that you will lose your right to cancel.

Our 30-day refund policy. Notwithstanding the above, we offer a thirty-day no-questions-asked refund. If a Portiko product is not useful to you for any reason, email contact@portiko.co.uk within 30 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund. We do not require you to delete or return the files. We may decline refund requests where there is clear evidence of misuse (for example, bulk redistribution).

Licence and acceptable use

When you buy a Portiko product, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the product for the purpose described.

You may:

• Use the product for your own personal preparation, learning, or professional practice.
• Edit, customise, and adapt the templates for your own use.
• Use the product on any number of devices that you personally use.
• For multi-service editions (e.g. GovernReady Multi-Service), use the product across all services within a single organisation that you operate or are employed by.

You may not:

• Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share the original files with anyone outside your immediate household or licensed organisation.
• Upload the files to public or shared file repositories, public file-sharing services, or training platforms.
• Use the files to create derivative products that compete directly with Portiko products.
• Remove copyright notices or branding from the files.
• Use AI tools to generate fraudulent reflective practice content, or otherwise breach the General Medical Council's guidance on the use of AI in regulated professional contexts.

Intellectual property

All content in Portiko products — text, structure, formulas, exemplars, frameworks, and design — is owned by Novatib Ltd and protected by copyright. The licence granted to you under "Licence and acceptable use" above is the only right you receive; all other rights are reserved.

Portiko products are preparation and operational tools, not regulatory or legal advice. Our products help you organise, structure, and present evidence and information. They do not replace, and should not be confused with, current regulatory guidance, professional advice, or clinical judgment.

For matters touching the GMC Portfolio Pathway, your authoritative reference is always current GMC guidance and your specialty's current Specialty Specific Guidance. For matters touching CQC compliance, your authoritative reference is always current CQC published guidance. For clinical decisions, your authoritative reference is your professional training, your supervising clinicians, and current clinical guidelines from recognised bodies.

We make every reasonable effort to ensure our products are accurate and current at the time of release, and we issue free updates when material guidance changes. We cannot, however, guarantee that any specific outcome (such as a successful Portfolio Pathway application or a positive CQC inspection) will result from using our products.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you arising from or in connection with any Portiko product is limited to the price you paid for that product.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of opportunity, loss of professional reputation, or any liability arising from how you have used or applied a Portiko product.

Privacy

Your privacy is covered by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site or purchase of products after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated terms. Changes will not affect purchases already completed under previous terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising from these terms or any Portiko product are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you have rights as a consumer that allow you to bring a claim in your local courts.
